The TikTok Story Behind Our Bakery in Knoxville, TN

Did you know our small bakery and coffee shop started as a coffee cart that went viral? Nathan Kitner, the owner of Mia Piccola, sold everything, moved back to Knoxville, and believed in a dream of starting a cafe.

It wasn’t until posting on TikTok that stardom suddenly came. Floods of natives poured into the tiny Southside Garage space to see the magic Nathan had created.

Now, our cafe has grown by partnering with local bakeries like Flourhead Bakery. We now offer the sweetest breads, treats, and desserts in our Knoxville Bakery and pride ourselves in sharing this experience with our customers.

Nathan, the owner of Mia Piccola's bakery in Knoxville, TN, has had almost a decade of specialty coffee and cafe experience, serving treats to thousands of customers.

Mia Piccola is his way of creating community in South Knoxville through locally roasted coffee and locally baked desserts, breads, and treats. He partnered with Flourhead Bakery in 2025 to realize this dream.
