TikTok Explosion: The Story Behind the Bakery

Did you know our small bakery and coffee shop started as a coffee cart gone viral? Nathan Kitner, the owner of Mia Piccola, sold everything, moved back to Knoxville, and believed in a dream of starting a cafe.

It wasn’t until posting on TikTok that stardom suddenly came. Floods of natives poured into the tiny Southside Garage space to see the magic Nathan had created.

Now, our cafe has grown by partnering with local bakeries like Flourhead Bakery and Mom’s Daughter Bread. We now offer the sweetest breads, treats, and desserts in Knoxville, and pride ourselves in sharing this experience with our customers.

Nathan, the owner of Mia Piccola's Bakery, has had almost a decade of specialty coffee and cafe experience, serving baked goods to thousands of customers.

Mia Piccola is his way of creating community in South Knoxville through locally roasted coffee and locally baked desserts, breads, and treats.
